Tuesday, April 8, 2025 — The Groundwater Resources Association is calling on professionals from across the West to help shape the future of groundwater management. On April 1, 2025, GRA opened its abstract submission portal for the upcoming Western Groundwater Congress, set to take place October 5–8 in San Diego. The annual event is recognized as a key forum for innovation and discussion among groundwater scientists, engineers, policymakers, and advocates.
“This year’s theme is all about COMMUNITY,” organizers stated. “We’re building on GRA’s vision—collaboration, inclusivity, and mutual support in groundwater management.” The 2025 program introduces a revised format, including hands-on pre-conference workshops, concurrent oral sessions, interactive panels, and poster presentations. Abstracts of 250–300 words are due by April 30. Topics range from aquifer recharge and contaminant cleanup to SGMA policy implementation and community-led science.
