Should we younger people care about drought? Yes!
Drought is when we don’t get enough rain or moisture, making the environment very dry.
Less water caused by drought means you don’t have water to irrigate your plants and garden. When you irrigate, it helps your fruits and vegetables grow, so you have healthy foods to eat.
Another reason we should care about drought is because when drought happens, our lakes don’t fill up. If we don’t have full lakes, eventually the lakes will dry up and all the fish will die. As you know, some homeless animals need these lakes as a water source. If they are dried up, the animals have nothing to drink.
Drought is a big problem, especially here in the West. Farmers and ranchers use lots of water for crops and animals. Some might even consider drought one of the worst natural disasters they can face.
Those are just a few reasons why we should care about drought.
So long as their conclusions are fact based and not from a political or emotional platform.
Great job Callie.
